CHARCOAL SKETCHING
Charcoal pencil sketching
Sketching with charcoal is a lot of
fun because it’s so freeing to make big, sweeping movements across your paper
whilst getting messy. Drawing with charcoal, pastel, and chalk is additive.
Maybe it’s because charcoal drawings are so fast and immediate, or maybe
because the final look is so dang cool, but people love to learn how to draw
with charcoal. Even the great Michelangelo created a number of charcoal
drawings. Look at the picture, spend a good
amount of time, don’t get discouraged and continue until what you wanted. It
may seem like it's boring, but when learning something new sometimes it really
is the only way. And every picture drawn is a new picture. Going on you can get
an idea on how it can be corrected by trying several times and improve in the
end.
Smudge the charcoal all over the page, smudging on paper makes the sketch more effective. The shadows can be done through various forms using brushes, kneaded eraser, blending stumps, eraser pencil these are all the tools that can be used to come up with better sketching. Use other blending pencils for various shading techniques.
Charcoal pencils come with different types such as hard, medium and soft charcoal. where the hard is the lightest shade and soft be the darkest shade. Other than this we the charcoal sticks which are soft and delicate in use. The tools play a very important role in creating a unique sketch. And it creates realistic moves and gestures which looks natural
Charcoal sketching is a type of art which includes more detailing to be done. It takes more time to add on the layers and create it naturally. Sketching through charcoal pencil cannot be done in one attempt. It is the type of sketching where more layers are to be added on various parts of the page because once done with charcoal cannot be completely erased that's the reason it's time-consuming.
Even if its time consuming and difficult when compared to other types of sketching, it gives detailing without any color used.
